US dollar jumps to 6.55 pesos, Blue up to 10.17
Greenbacks were trading two and a half cents higher in the first financial week of 2014 following the 32-percent devaluation reached by Argentina’s peso currency last year. Rates were at 6.50 pesos for buyers and 6.55 for sellers at BA City banks and exchange offices.
Meanwhile, the so called “blue” dollar was climbing 17 cents to 10.12 pesos (buying price) and 10.17 (selling price). In 2013, informal market rates reached a historic peak of 10.45 pesos.
