Dellepiane, 25 de Mayo highways blocked by protests
A group of Villa Lugano neighbors were blocking today the Dellepiane highway and stopping traffic on both directions to protest power outages that has affected the area since the beginning of the week.
Later, a group of residents from the Flores neighbourhood staged their own blockade on the 25 de Mayo highway, cutting off traffic moving towards the province near Carabobo avenue.
Federal and Metropolitan Police were working at the site forcing drivers to take a detour at the Montiel exit prompting traffic delays.
Lugano protesters first blocked the Dellepiane highway yesterday for six hours.
Meanwhile, residents from other Buenos Aires City neighborhoods –Recoleta, Villa Crespo, Caballito and Almagro among others- decided as well to take their demands to the streets and block several crossroads across Argentina’s capital urging electricity companies Edenor and Edesur to restore the service.
