Minimum bus fare rises 66% to 2.50 pesos

The national  government has raised the price of bus fares from 1.50 pesos to 2.50 pesos, as of January 1, and has cut SUBE subway tariffs by 40 percent to benefit “the most vulnerable sectors.”

According to a resolution published today on the official gazette and signed by Florencio Randazzo, the Transport and Interior Minister, the goals of the public transport policies are to “maintain reasonable tariffs, implementing compensations and achieving income redistribution towards low income sectors.”
