Obama signs bipartisan budget deal that eases spending cuts

US President Barack Obama talks to members of the military and their families during a Christmas dinner in Anderson Hall at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, on December 25, 2013.

President Barack Obama today signed the two-year US budget agreement negotiated by Congress earlier this month.

The bill was among seven pieces of legislation signed by Obama, who is vacationing with his family in Hawaii.

The US Senate passed a budget deal on December 18 that will ease automatic spending cuts and reduce the risk of a government shutdown.
