Lugano neighbors lift Dellepiane picket, traffic turns to normal

Lugano neighbors block the Dellepiane highway to protest power outage

Residents of Villa Crespo and Lugano neighborhoods were protesting today at a key freeway and crossroad against lingering power outages that continue to affect hundreds in Argentina’s capital already coping with suffocating heat.

In Villa Crespo, a group of demonstrators were demanding the resumption of energy services in the intersection of Corrientes Avenue and Serrano Street telling media that they have been in the dark for 15 days.

Meanwhile, Lugano’s neighbors totally blocked the Dellepiane highway this morning. They freed one of the lanes but continued to halt all traffic to the City. After six hours of picket, they lifted the protest with traffic starting to normalize.
