The National Meteorological Service (SMN) released a red alert for the cities of Buenos Aires and Rosario as well as surrounding areas, reacting to a heat wave that continues to affect the region.

In the Buenos Aires city, the minimum temperature is predicted at 26° Celsius, with the maximum reaching 38°C, according to the SMN.

The organisation's report signalled that the red alert is declared “in exceptional occasions, when temperatures might affect healthy people and not only risk groups.”

However the heat is expected to continue at least until Thursday afternoon, with the possibility of isolated storms, according to the local weather entity.
