Energy consumption hits new record high
Energy consumption in Argentina reached a new record high for a working day when at 3 pm this afternoon it hit 23,793 megawatts, Cammesa company informed.
Due to extremely high temperatures which have been striking the country during the past weeks, today's demand reached a new high from its last record registered on December 17.
"The system is operating normally and has an additional reserve of 4,000 megawatts,” a communiqué released by the Planning Ministry stated adding authorities are “grateful for the effort made these days by workers of Light and Power and UOCRA unions, to repair and restore power” amid an ongoing heat wave and an increasing demand of electricity.
