Massa slams Gov't price deal: 'We need a program to fight inflation'
Renewal Front leader and national lawmaker Sergio Massa affirmed that is necessary “to acknowledge the inflationary problem, recover the statistic credibility and organize an integral program to fight against it.”
In a new attempt to restrain the inertial inflation the country has been undergoing, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration reached yesterday a price deal with different business chambers to keep prices unchanged for one year.
However Massa rejected that decision, and assured that “prices are rising and the inflation is out of control.”
In addition, he explained that “from 40 thousand products, they will control 180. It is a lie, and you can check it by comparing last years’ prices. They jumped from 15 pesos to 49”, concluded Tigre’s former Mayor.
The Minister of Economy, Axcel Kicillof sustained yesterday that “this agreement is not a price freeze” but a deal signed with the private sector.
"These agreements will last one year and require further talks and monitoring,” he added.
