Government, business chambers strike price deal

Government officials and business chambers sign price deals.

In a new attempt to restrain the inertial inflation the country has been undergoing, the government today reached a price deal with different business chambers to keep prices unchanged for one year.

The agreement, signed by Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich, Economy Minister Axel Kicillof, and Trade Secretary Augusto Costa, and representatives from ASU, CAPA, CADAM; COPAL and FASA business chambers, will affect 187 products and will be implemented as of January 1.

Kicillof stated “this agreement is not a price freeze” but a deal signed with the private sector.

"These agreements will last one year and require further talks and monitoring,” he added.
