Capitanich urges power companies to account for blackouts
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich today blasted those who “compare the current energy situation with the programmed power cuts during the government of Radical Raúl Alfonsín” saying they "lie."
In his daily press briefing at the Government House, the chief of staff urged to have a “reasonable debate” and considered “essential” that energy companies “give explanations to users” amid the massive blackouts of the last days.
He went on to defend the current level of utility prices which aims at “offering competitiveness, improving the purchasing power, and protecting the income of the lower classes.”
Despite his insistence that companies must increase their investments to avoid further power cuts, he also urged the population to “use energy rationally.”
