Macri: Power cuts due to government energy policy

Buenos Aires City mayor Mauricio Macri has placed responsibility for recent blackouts at the feet of the national government, stating that misguided energy policies were the reason for power cuts as power consumption reached record levels.

"The cuts are the fault of the national government's failed energy policies, which have submerged us into a problem that has come to stay," the City chief fired today in a press conference.

The politician demanded investments in the national power grid, and announced that he would send to the City legislature a proposal that every building over six storeys in height should have an electrical generator; in order to keep elevators and water pumps functioning.

Macri added that the Ciudad Bank would open an "accessible" credit line, so that "everybody will be able to buy" their own electrical generator.
