Capitanich urges companies to invest to avoid power cuts

“Private companies are responsible for the power cuts,” Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich referred today to the increasing blackouts in the City and the province of Buenos Aires caused by the power demand amid soaring temperatures and urged companies to boost their investments.

During a press conference, Capitanich informed the electricity demand hit a record high yesterday at 3 pm which caused “a breakdown in transformer stations that led to power cuts.”

From the Government House he stressed “the increase in the energetic offer counted in megawatts must go with a mechanism of investment in the low and medium voltage networks.”
