BA province situation under control, Granados

BA province Security Minister Alejandro Granados (L) greets a female agent after launching the PreventioN Comprehensive System in the locality of Moreno

Buenos Aires province Security Minister Alejandro Granados affirmed today the situation in Argentina’s most populated province is under control following the wave of lootings and social tensions drawn by a police strike over salary hike demands that took place in several areas across the city.

Still, the provincial authority warned “there might be people making things up to create general upset,” specially through social networks and in anonymous ways. The official revealed there are “email chains alarming people a lot” with "false" information.

Earlier this week, the police arrested two people for promoting loopings using a Facebook account.

Granados assured Buenos Aires province security forces are “prepared” so that “lootings” don’t take place.
