'Argentineans will have a calm Christmas,' Berni
Security Secretary Sergio Berni today expressed his certainty that Argentineans will be enjoying a “calm Christmas” as he explained the situation in looting-struck provinces “tends to stabilize.”
“We are working in different provinces, in Tucumán and Salta. Today we contacted the governor of La Pampa (Oscar Jorge) where the police was barracking but no loutish is being registered. Everything tends to stabilize,” the national official affirmed.
“I am sure we will have a calm Christmas as Argentineans deserve,” Berni said in statements to media this morning.
Following the first protest by police demanding for salary hikes in the province of Córdoba last week, strikes spread to other provincial districts with the federal government deploying military police and coast guards to the conflict areas.
