Maradona, one of the candidates

LONDON — Former Argentina star Diego Armando Maradona sounds as one of the candidates to replace André Villas Boas as the coach of Tottenham Hotspur because the English team campaign in the Premier League is not good enough for the club officials.

The Spurs remembered Maradona for wearing the team’s jersey in a friendly in 1986.

Tottenham is sixth in the league standings with 27 points (eight victories, three draws and four defeats), eight behind leader Arsenal. It’s also competing in the Europa League and qualified for the last 32 round. However, the officials are not satisfied with the team’s performances.
