Catamarca conflict settled, police granted salary hike
The government of the Catamarca province has reached a deal with the Police after a day of violence that saw around 200 striking officers trying to enter the government palace yesterday and left several injured by rubber bullets.
Governor Lucía Corpacci was reported to have left the government house at 2.30 am this morning after remaining inside the building during the whole day as police seized the place. The agreement will take minimum wages to 10,000 pesos.
After the conflict was finally settled, military police proceeded to evict the place resulting in clashes that left several injured by rubber bullets.
