Capitanich to contact SC's Lorenzetti to set 'open agenda'
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich confirmed today he has received an “official note” from the Supreme Court Secretary to set a meeting with the members of Argentina’s top tribunal. Renewing his criticism of the first formal request he received yesterday when he was summoned before the SC, the head of ministers called to respect “constitutional channels.”
Addressing reporters at the government house, Capitanich said he will be contacting the President of the Supreme Court today to coordinate an “open agenda.”
On Thursday, the maximum tribunal issued a request for an audience with the minister which was rapidly criticized by Capitanich who warned about the “interference” of justices in the Executive power.
“We have a dialogue perspective with all different branches of the state and therefore we have no inconvenience to establish ties with the (Supreme) Court. However, we find such request strange,” the cabinet chief had said yesterday.
