Violence in Córdoba's supermarkets: video
The Córdoba crisis has led so far to one dead, at least 60 injured -including 13 people who received gunshots-, and more than 50 arrested, following the looting that spread after the provincial police launched a sit-in at the Preventive Action Command headquarters in demand for salary hikes.
The violent incidents started on Tuesday with almost no security forces patrolling the streets and spread to several provincial areas including the capital city. Looters broke into supermarkets and shops, breaking windows and stealing food and other goods.
Meanwhile, supported by their families, thousands of police officers remained barracked demanding for a 13,000 pesos minimum wage as they affirmed current salaries are only of 6,000 pesos.
