Doctors reveal Gioja in a stable condition, progressing well

San Juan governor José Luis Gioja continues to show encouraging signs of progress in his recovery from a helicopter crash in October, according to medical reports released today by the Hospital Italiano.

A statement from the Buenos Aires-based institution revealed that the politician was in a "stable" condition, and was "meeting all of the goals set before him," which led doctors to report "encouraging advances in his progress."

Gioja has been receiving treatment since October 11, when the helicopter carrying himself, secretary Héctor Pérez and national lawmakers Daniel Tomas and Margarita Ferrá de Bartol, who died in the collision, crashed.

The San Juan governor is the only passenger still being treated for injuries sustained in the accident, and doctors sustained that his prognosis remains "reserved".
