CFK is recovering favorably
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s recovery from the head surgery she underwent to remove a hematoma is satisfactory, presidential spokesman Alfredo Scoccimarro said in a press conference at Government House.
Scoccimarro read a press release issued by the Favaloro Foundation private hospital where the president underwent surgery on October 8. The spokesman said that the brain scan had been normal, as it has been since she underwent the surgery.
“From the clinical and cardiology standpoint, there is nothing to be mentioned,” he stated.
Scoccimarro added that on November 8, she will undergo further tests to estabalish if she can be given a clean bill of health to return to her official duties after a full month’s rest. The president requested a 30-day leave of absence and Vice-President Amado Boudou is currently in charge of the Executive.
The was speculation that Fernández de Kirchner would reappear to reinaugurate a Siam factory. The president’s comeback is expected amid speculation about a possible Cabinet reshuffle after the midterm elections held last week.
