Argentine artists at Shanghai Fest
Argentina will be the guest of honour at the 15th edition of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF), hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and organized by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. A delegation of 42 Argentine artists will represent the country at CSIAF, running November 8 through 18.
The delegation, selected by the Argentine Foreign Ministry Culture Department, will be made up of pianist Nelson Goerner; bandoneon player Néstor Marconi (playing with his octet); dancer Juan Pablo Ledo and his Ballet de Cámara company; tango dancer Milena Plebs, who will première Sabat Tango (Estado de tango), choreographed by Alejandro Cervera; and Claudio Tolcachir’s internationally renowned theatre company Timbre 4, who will be staging their emblematic hit La omisión de la familia Coleman.
La Zopenca company, which participated in last year’s Macau Arts, will be staging their new work Colores primarios.
Finally, Leandro Erlich, one of Argentina’s best-known visual artists, will present two large-scale installations: Shikumen de Shanghai and Vestidores.
