Storm alert ceases, heavy rain expected to continue
After yesterday’s storm alert issued by the National Weather Service, Argentineans are still coping with heavy rains affecting Buenos Aires and the country’s central and Northern areas.
In the Jesús María city in the Córdoba province, rescue teams and police were searching for a driver that remains missing after a bridge collapsed taking his car down into the Surquía River. Storms in that province have already left 1 dead and more than 50 evacuated.
In the Buenos Aires province coast area, local authorities have decided to suspend school classes “to avoid accidents due to the strong winds and abundant fall of water.”
The National Weather Service said today that conditions are expected to improve only starting tonight.
