Government confirms price freezes will continue until 2014
Deputy Secretary of Commerce María Lucila “Pimpi” Colombo has confirmed that government initiatives to control prices, which includes the freezing of over 500 basic products, will continue until the end of the year after reaching an accord with major suppliers and supermarkets.
“In the last few days we have noticed a press campaign against the price control plan, which was the result of an agreement between the Secretary of Domestic Trade [Guillermo Moreno] and supermarket chains nationwide from June 1," assured Colombo.
After informing that the list of the products is available at www.consumidor.gov.ar, the politician defined as “significant” the fact that “the consumers associations consulted, are those which have not fulfilled their obligations, and have been suspended from the National Register of Associations.”
“The only truth is reality”, Colombo added, and continued by affirming that “in Argentine homes, access to consumer of goods and services has been improved with the help of a national project that returned workers their rights."
