Kunkel questions opposition campaign 'promises'
A more or less foregone scenario was how Victory Front MP Carlos Kunkel considered Sunday’s electoral results questioning the “promises” the opposition made to people during campaign and warning Kirchnerism managed to hold parliamentary control.
“Opponents running for legislative posts promised I don’t know how many things to society. I don’t know how they are going to fulfill them, ”Kunkel told reporters as he explained opposition pledges “are to be executed at executive posts”- meaning opposition leaders are actually campaigning for the 2015 presidential battle rather than for a congressional change.
A staunch Kirchnerite, the lawmaker assured the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration "will secure Argentineans the democratic continuity" and pointed out that yesterday’s electoral outcome was not a “nationwide defeat” although he recognized there was a “setback” in some districts.
