Cobos' UCR wins in Mendoza
The president of the Mendoza province Radical Party (UCR) secured a wide margin of victory in Sunday's legislative elections, gaining 20 points more than their nearest challengers in taking three seats in the Lower House.
With over 95 percent of the vote tallied, the UCR had taken 47.69 percent, placing them well ahead of nearest rivals in the Victory Front (27.03%).
The president of the Mendoza province Radical Party (UCR) Alfredo Cornejo had previously given the UCR list headed by former Governor and Vice President Julio Cobos a victory over the FpV list headed by Guaymallén Department Mayor Alejandro Abraham.
“We have between 48 and 50 percent, with high probabilities of reaching that 50 percent,” Cornejo said, escorted by Luis Petri, the third candidate of the UCR for a Lower House seat.
