Giustozzi calls BA province election an 'epopee'
Prior to the official announcement of results, mayor of the Buenos Aires province locality of Almirante Brown Darío Giustozzi affirmed head of the Renewal Front party Sergio Massa was going for a crushing result today. And he is now proving to be right. Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo confirmed Massa’s Renewal Front is leading the election in BA province with 42.38 percent of the votes. Second comes Victory Front’s Insaurralde with 29.23 percent and the Civic and Social Progressive Front with 16.71 percent.
“I have no doubt about the impact of the elections”, Giustozzi had said earlier this afternoon adding Sergio Massa was going to be the legislative candidate people “will vote the most.”
Talking about what he considered an “epopee” by the Renewal Front –“in 120 days we managed to get victory in the province of Buenos Aires and offer a national proyection”-, Giustozzi told reporters that Sergio Massa’s political force will have “a leading role in Argentina’s political stage” after today's elections.
Ex cabinet chief during the first administration of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and current Mayor of the provincial locality of Tigre, Sergio Massa has become a main opponent to Kirchnerism defying Victory Front candidate Martín Insaurralde in Argentina’s key electoral district, the province of Buenos Aires.
