Neymar, Sánchez give Barca derby win, Martino's first Clásico
The Liga arch-rivals clashed today giving Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s his first derby win at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona. In the 2-1 victory for Barcelona, first to score was Brazilian Neymar followed by Chile’s Alexis Sánchez. A goal by Real Madrid’s Jesé closed the gap.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to deploy Bale, who has barely featured since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in the close season, in attack with Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina winger Angel Di María.
Ancelotti's Barca counterpart Gerardo Martino opted for a forward line featuring Argentine World Player of the Year Lionel Messi, Brazil's Neymar and Cesc Fabregas of Spain, Barca said on their feed.
A win for Real at Barca's Nou Camp stadium would have put them level with Barca on 25 points from 10 matches.
Today's was Argentinean Martino first derby since being appointed Barca's coach earlier this year.
