Sarmiento nationalization made official
The government today published the nationalization of the Sarmiento train line after its last tragedy which last Saturday left dozens injured after a train crashed into Once terminal station.
The government formalized the decision in the Official Gazzette as well as the new security measures for the entire railway transport system aimed at avoiding a new catastrophe.
One of the resolutions published this morning accused UGOMS, the company which operated until today the Sarmiento and Mitre lines, of alleged breach regarding the control on drivers, a request made by the Transport Ministry in August and September after last year accident in Once which left 51 people killed and the Castelar crash in April of this year, which killed three commuters.
