Driver reported 'no functioning problems,' official
Mitre Sarmiento Operational Unit communications manager Pablo Gunning confirmed the driver in charge of the train that crashed at the Once station today reported “no functioning problems” during the scheduled route.
“He (the driver) had a normal trajectory and did not report any functioning problems till the time of the collision,” Gunning said and explained that the train crashed against a retaining wall of the platform N° 2. The official added the Sarmiento car left the warehouse at 4.53 AM and began its regular service at 6.18 AM.
“Since 4.53 AM, the motorman reported no problems,” he insisted and affirmed that security cameras both from the cabin and the platform as well as the GPS data will be used to determine the causes of the accident.
