Broadcasting law has a 'bittersweet taste,' caretaker Boudou
Marking a 4th anniversary of the broadcasting law approval, acting President Amado Boudou and the head of the AFSCA media watchdog Martín Sabbatella led a rally in the Tecnópolis fair in Buenos Aires province. “A bittersweet taste,” Boudou said to describe both the progress and the obstacles facing the full observance of the legislation.
“It is a bittersweet taste because there is a lot that has been done and a lot that remains ahead regarding the implementation of this law,” the Vice-President now in charge of the government as Cristina Fernández de Kirchner recovers from surgery said.
Boudou was in fact referring to the legal battle between the government and the Clarín Group which has being issuing several injunctions since the Congress passed the law in 2009 stopping its comprehensive implementation.
