Boudou: 'CFK is taking a needed and deserved rest'
After President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was ordered to rest for a month, Vice-President Amado Boudou replaced her at a ceremony held at the Government House at noon and which the president was expected to head.
During the ceremony, also attended by Buenos Aires Governor Daniel Scioli, Security Secretary Sergio Berni, Lomas de Zamora Mayor Martín Insaurralde, the government delivered new patrol cars for the Gendarmerie forces. Boudou explained the president "is taking a needed and deserved rest" adding she had ordered to "keep the administration on track."
Boudou will later participate in a science announcement along with Science and Technology Minister Lino Barañao.
Boudou had to return from Brazil where he had landed to meet with his Senate’s counterpart, and cancelled a trip to the French city of Cannes, after a medical report this weekend forced the president to begin a one-month rest.
