Inter's Icardi to replace Messi in Argentina squad
Icardi, who yesterday scored in Inter's 1-1 draw against Cagliari was selected following confirmation that a thigh injury would keep the Barcelona star and national captain out of fixtures against Perú and Uruguay.
The 20-year-old, who ironically shares Messi's hometown of Rosario and is also a fan of Lio's old club Newell's Old Boys, is yet to be capped by Argentina. He has previously been linked to the Italian national team, due to the fact that he holds a passport from the European nation.
