Argentina, Ghana deal ends Frigate ARA Libertad dispute
Argentina and Ghana have signed a deal today putting an end to the Frigate ARA Libertad dispute with Ghana, which had seized the Argentine warship at the Tema Port.
The dispute started when a subsidiary of US hedge fund Elliott Capital Management gained an injunction from the Ghanaian Commercial Court to prevent the ship and its crew members from leaving the port.
The deal was signed today between diplomatic representatives from both countries, according to a statement released by the Argentine Foreign Ministry.
