Boca continues with irregular season
Boca continued with its irregular season yesterday as it drew 0-0 against Argentinos, although Carlos Bianchi’s side had the best chances to score. Boca won four, lost three and drew one from eight matches.
Boca Juniors and Argentinos Juniors played a scoreless draw at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in La Paternal in a boring match for the eighth round of the Initial Tournament.
Carlos Bianchi’s team continued with its irregular performances in the season, as it won four games, lost three and drew one. Last weekend, Boca defeated Racing 2-0 showing its best performance in the championship, but yesterday it could not play the same way against Argentinos, although it had the best opportunities to score.
“If we don’t score, we will lose points in matches that we deserve to win,” said Boca coach Bianchi after the game. “We are playing better and that gives us more confidence.”
Boca lined up with: Agustín Orion; Cristian Erbes, Ribair Rodríguez, Claudio Pérez, Nahuel Zárate; Jesús Méndez, Fernando Gago, Pablo Ledesma, Juan Sánchez Miño; Juan Manuel Martínez and Emmanuel Gigliotti.
Argentinos lined up with: Pablo Migliore; Julio Barraza, Diego Barisone, Nicolás Freire; Sergio Vi-ttor; Rodrigo Gómez, Santiago Nagüel, Gaspar Iñíguez, Leandro Barrera; Enrique Triverio and Hernán Boyero.
In Santa Fe, San Lorenzo moved within a point of league-leading Newell’s Old Boys with a 2-0 victory over Colón at the General Brigadier Estanislao López stadium, where the new biometric system to fight violence in soccer, AFA-Plus, was tried. San Lorenzo’s Ignacio Piatti and Juan Ignacio Cavallaro scored second-half goals.
Earlier, Quilmes and Lanús drew 0-0 at the Centenario stadium.
On Saturday night, Rosario Central and Arsenal drew 1-1 in Rosario.
