Jamming with Charly García
What would it feel like to witness a wild night of rock’n’roll with rocker Charly García? This is probably what filmmaker Alejandro Chomsky (Hoy y mañana, 2003; Dormir al sol, 2012) had in mind when he decided to work on an old, unedited tape from 1994 documenting a jam session with Charly, featuring fellow musicians-friends Fernando Samalea, Fabián Von Quintiero and María Gabriela Epumer, with Alejandro Medina as guest performer.
On that memorable evening, Charly recorded the still unreleased single Existir sin vos (to be included in the album La hija de la lágrima), a long process duly reflected by Chomsky in his documentary Existir sin vos — Una noche con Charly García, premièring tonight at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Documentary Films (FIDBA).
Existir sin vos... shows today at 8pm at Vorterix, Av. Federico Lacroze 3455, with free admission. Tickets must be picked up one hour in advance.
