CFK meets with Ecuador's Correa, no mention of Chevron

Ecuador''s president Rafael Correa during his meeting with CFK in Olivos.
Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa expressed his full support to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner during today's meeting in the president's Olivos residence, and avoided commenting on the YPF deal with Chevron.

Correa reaffirmed: "We totally trust Cristína Fernández de Kirchner", and added: "If she had been the Ecuadorian president at times when Texaco [the oil company bought by Chevron in 2001] destroyed the jungle, she would have never allowed that to happen".

Back in his country Correa strongly supports the legal claims of the Lago Agrio plaintiffs over Chevron's responsibility to pay 20 million dollars for the Amazonia pollution.
