Moreno prosecuted over abuse of authority
Federal Judge Claudio Bonadío has decided to prosecute Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Moreno over abuse of authority charges following a lawsuit by private-sector consultant Jorge Todesca. The Kirchnerite official has been attached with a 50,069.67 pesos lien.
The head of Finsoport consulting firm Jorge Todesca had filed a complaint against Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Moreno, National Director of Domestic Trade Fernando Carro and National Director of Trade Loyalty Adalberto Guillermo Rotella claiming his firm had been “illegally sanctioned” over the disclosure of inflation rates that contradict figures by the INDEC offical statistics bureau.
According to judge Bonadío, Moreno, Carro and Rotella proceeded “illegally” and “arbitrarily” in sanctioning Todesca’s company as well as other consulting agencies that had also been targeted by the government.
The reasons put forward by the officials -“methodological errors”, the ruling says-, can not be “defined as crimes” “when the state has the means and forms to show and prove such mistakes.”
