BA province new Security, Justice ministers take office
Alejandro Granados and Ricardo Casal have officially assumed their posts as Buenos Aires province Ministers of Security and Justice respectively. Governor Daniel Scioli headed the swearing ceremony that took place at government house in the city of La Plata.
Earlier this week, the province legislature signed into law the officials’ appointment that has put Ricardo Casal in charge only of the Justice office setting Granados for the battle against crime.
During the official ceremony, Scioli praised the support of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to his administration’s decision to reinforce crime prevention in Argentina’s most populated district. The Governor ratified his commitment to meet society’s demands that “needs the state to make its greatest efforts to have a safer and fairer province.”
Of Casal –who was put to run the Justice and Security department in 2010 during Scioli’s first administration-, the governor stressed his “experience, values, integrity and commitment with work.” “I want to thank him institutionally and personally for his efforts, his dedication, the nights without sleep, joining the victims, holding responsibility and facing the situation,” Daniel Scioli pointed out.
Of Granados –who was the Mayor of the provincial locality of Ezeiza till the head of Buenos Aires province decided to appoint him as the new Security Minister- Scioli said he “knows the needs of every neighborhood following his own personal experience” and stressed Granados’s Ezeiza has the lowest crime rates.
