Buenos Aires shares hit record high
Buenos Aires shares were higher today and hit a record high as the Merval benchmark index climbed 2.9 percent to 4,303.85 points, in line with global markets and ahead of a scheduled 2.7 billion dollar payment on the Bonar VII bond the government must secure next Thursday.
The index has raised 46.5% this year.
Investors are also awaiting the outcome of the upcoming Lower House debate over the debt swap which is scheduled for this week. Last Wednesday the Senate voted to indefinitely open a bond swap that would offer holdouts the same terms as a prior swap in 2010.
