100-car pile up in England, dozens injured
A pile up involving more than 100 cars in thick fog on the Sheppey crossing bridge in England has resulted in people seriously injured with motorists transferred to nearby hospitals.
Despite footages showing the A249 bride that connects the Isle of Sheppey with mainland Kent totally blocked by cars and trucks, emergency workers and police confirmed nobody died.
According to first data of the massive accident, 8 motorists were seriously injured and more than 60 suffered minor injuries with more than 30 taken to hospitals.
News website Kentonline reported that a senior Kent Police officer said the accident was “the country’s worst in 20 years” and that it was remarkable no one was killed or left fighting for their life.
