Passarella: I hope Boca goes down
Daniel Passarella said in a interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca that he “would like to see Boca in the second division some day.” He explained that it is a fan wish.
River Plate President Daniel Pa-ssarella said yesterday that he would like to see Boca Juniors relegated to the National B Division, as it happened to River in 2011.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca, Passarella was asked if he “would like to see Boca in the second division some day,” and Passarella answered: “It’s not a question I want to answer. But I hope so.”
Then, he explained that he did not say that as the president of River, but “as a fan.”
Passarella became the second River official to make public his wish to see the club’s arch rival in the National B Division, as Second Vice-President Omar Solassi said in June that “I hope that Boca goes to the B in 2015.”
Boca Juniors Deputy Secretary, Marcelo London, said yesterday that Passarella “will never see his wish come true.” “It’s a cheap way to campaign,” said London about Passarella.
There are going to be elections in River in December and Passarella said that he does not know if he is going for the re-election yet.
“I’m not sure yet. I have more experience now, but I will only apply for the charge again if I know I’m going to win,” said Passarella.
