Argentinos fails to reach top against Belgrano
Argentinos played out a goalless draw with Arsenal and failed to reach the top of the standings. In the other matches, Belgrano won its first match against Atlético de Rafaela and Lanús beat Olimpo.
Argentinos Juniors, which remains in the relegation zone in spite of being in the top places of the standings of the Initial Tournament, tied yesterday with unbeaten Arsenal without opening the scoring in a dull match in Sarandí for the 5th round of the tournament and failed to reach the top of the standings.
After this draw, Argentinos has 10 points and share with Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata and Colón de Santa Fe second place, one point behind leader Newell’s Old Boys de Rosario. Arsenal has 9 points.
Meanwhile, Belgrano de Córdoba came from behind to earn its first victory of the tournament after beating Atlético de Rafaela 3-2.
Cristian Canuhé opened the scoring for the Santa Fe side in the 17th minute while Andrés Rodales increased the gap in the 37th. But Ezequiel Maggiolo pulled one back in the 42nd and levelled the scoring in the 48th. Luciano Lollo scored the winner in the 67th. Rafaela goalkeeper Esteban Conde blocked a penalty kick from Lollo in the second half while Rafaela ended the match with 10 men after Federico González was shown a red card.
Also yesterday, Lanús ended its winless three-match run as it beat Olimpo de Bahía Blanca 3-0 in the closing match of the round. Lautaro Acosta scored the first goal a few second before half-time while Ismael Blanco put it 2-0 in the 71st and, two minutes later, Nicolás Pasquini sealed the 3-0 victory.
