'Thinking about candidacies is irresponsible' - Capitanich
Governor of the province of Chaco Jorge Capitanich said Friday’s summit bringing together Peronist leaders was not a show of support for Daniel Scioli ahead of the 2015 presidential elections. “We must secure Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s leadership,” Capitanich said.
Following the meeting of Kirchnerism and Peronism figures –including Buenos Aires province Daniel Scioli and cabinet chief Juan Manuel Abal Medina- in the province of Corrientes on Friday, Capitanich ruled out versions saying the gathering was to close ranks behind Scioli’s candidacy for the 2015 run.
“We work everyday to make a better government. Those who venture to think about the 2015 elections do not have priorities and the scenario clear,” Chaco’s head told reporters and added that thinking about candidacies is “irresponsible.”
“I respect Scioli and those who want to be candidates but what we have to do is to rule and secure the leadership of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to fulfill our objectives,” Capitanich –once considered a presidential candidate himself- insisted.
