'Crime is no fear,' Insaurralde warns
Kirchnerite candidate running for parliament Martín Insaurralde seems to have accepted opposition’s challenge to put security in the elections agenda. “Crime is a real issue. If a Buenos Aires province leader says it is only fear of crime then he does not live in Argentina,” the current Mayor of the Lomas de Zamora district affirmed.
In statements to a local radio station, Insaurralde considered “truth must be told to people at campaign time” and pointed out that the first decision of his administration in the Lomas de Zamora district was to create the Security Secretary. “Crime is a real issue,” the Victory Front (FpV) candidate -seeking to reverse the Kirchnerite defeat in August’s PASO primaries- said.
Insaurralde was also asked about Friday’s VpV summit in the province of Corrientes headed by Buenos Aires province governor Daniel Scioli in which Peronist leaders came together to support Mayor Carlos “Camau” Espínola running for governor of Corrientes but mainly to clear off allegations of division among Kirchnerite caudillos following the PASO results. “Peronism is always reorganizing itself,” Insaurrande stated.
