US dollar climbs 1 cent to 5.65 pesos , 'cave' greenback hits 9.36
The US dollar was trading today unchanged at banks and exchange offices at 5.59 pesos (buying price) and 5.65 (selling price). In an 8-month period, devaluation has reached 14.5 percent.
The informal market has been shaken by greenbacks operating in so called foreign exchange “caves” jumping 30 cents. Top traders were already offering the “cave dollar” for 9.36 pesos leading to a 63.7-percent gap between the official and the parallel rates.
