US dollar higher at 5.60 pesos
The dollar has raised four and a half this week and more than 13.7 percent so far 2013, and today was traded at 5.60 pesos for buyers at banks and exchange offices in Buenos Aires City.
In the opposite direction, the informal foreign exchange market is closely monitored by the government which is allegedly pushing some traders to keep the “blue” dollar frozen. Like yesterday, its rate remained steady at 8.60 for buyers.
Buenos Aires shares edged down 1.3 percent today to 3,815.29 points.
