Timerman, Jaua meet as Venezuela's presidential elections near
Less than a week ahead of the elections that will determine Caracas’ political scenario after the death of Hugo Chávez, Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman meet with his Venezuelan counterpart Elías Jaua to address current state of bilateral ties.
Offcials have gathered at the San Martín Palace in Buenos Aires.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the meeting is being marked by the countries’ “positive” stance in relations. Timerman and Jaua were expected to address trade, investment and integration issues as well as the role played by regional blocs CELAC and UNASUR in the process of Venezuela’s integration to MERCOSUR.
Following the meeting, Timerman will offer a luncheon in honor of the Venezuelan official that Federal Planning Minister Julio De Vido, Secretary General to the Presindency Oscar Parrilli and Industry Minister Débora Giorgi also attended.
