Feletti says some are applying pressure 'to cause devaluation'
National lawmaker Roberto Feletti denied the existence of internal struggles in the National Government due to the skyrocketing exchange rate of the so-called “dollar blue” or that the Government appealed to currency exchange agencies close to it to bring it down. However, he denounced the existence of “pressures to cause devaluation”.
Feletti assured that the sudden rise in the exchange rate on Tuesday and Wednesday “was looking to apply pressure in order to cause devaluation.” According to him, there were “people who introduced a million dollars into the market and paid accepted to pay the dollar at AR$8 or AR$9, excerpting pressure on the currency exchange process.”
He also denied rumours that Central Bank governor Mercedes Marcó del Pont urged President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to choose between her and Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Moreno. “That is categorically untrue,” he said.
