Uruguay's Senate to address gay marriage bill
Uruguayan ruling party senator Luis Rosadilla
Just like Argentina did in 2010, Uruguay will take a step forward in the recognition of minorities’ rights when the Senate of that country addresses the gay marriage bill on April 2nd.
Uruguayan lawmaker from the ruling Frente Amlplio party Luis Rosadilla has confirmed the Senate’s session to debate the initiative, early approved by the Constitution Commission of the Upper House.
The project eliminates in Uruguay’s Civil Code all gender distinction in marriage considering marriage in a general perspective and allows people to decide on the order of children’s last names.
