BA City court rules out subway tariff increase
A Buenos Aires City court has ruled out the controversial increase in the subway tariff announced by Mayor Mauricio Macri’s administration in recent weeks and that would have taken tickets from $2.50 pesos to $3.50 pesos.
Following an appeal filed by Proyecto Sur and MST legislator Alejandro Bodart, judge Pablo Mantaras ordered the City government to “suspend” the official resolution 1798/SBASE/13 allowing the increase in subway tickets to become effective as for tomorrow.
The court also urged local authorities to issue a report and outline the information that drove the tariff increase.
